Volleyball coach pleads to federal child pornography charge

CHICAGO (AP) – A suburban Chicago volleyball coach who this year was charged with hiding a video camera in a public restroom at a youth practice facility where he worked has pleaded guilty to federal charges that he enticed a 16-year-old boy to produce sexually explicit videos of himself.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in a news release says 34-year-old Michael Liedtke of Streamwood faces up to 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced in October after pleading guilty recently to receipt of child pornography.

As part of his plea agreement, Liedtke admitted that he operated a video camera that he’d hidden at the training facility in Carol Steam to make recordings of hundreds of children and adults. The release says prosecutors in DuPage County will move to dismiss the charges there.
