SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Visitors to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield will get a chance to learn about the historic 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and a cup of tea.
In a news release, the library says it will present a “World’s Fair Tea” on Aug. 1.
The museum says the three-course tea begins at 1 p.m. Along with tea, the menu includes scones and clotted cream, chicken salad and desserts such as lemon butter tarts and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
The library will also have items such as posters and photographs from the Columbian Exposition. And the $35 entrance fee, $31.50 for museum members, includes free admission to the museum’s exhibit called “Undying Words: Lincoln 1858-1865.”
