DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Veterans in eastern Illinois are a step closer to having more affordable housing options.
Officials are set to break ground Tuesday morning on a $17.5 million housing development in Danville. The complex is expected to include 65 units for homeless and disabled veterans. The two buildings will be on the campus of the VA Illiana Health Care System, which is the regional veterans’ hospital.
Officials from Mercy Housing Lakefront, the Danville Housing Authority and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are expected to attend the ground breaking.
