According to business acquirement records, Hy-Vee bought the location July 29th for $659,000.
No timeline has currently been put in place for the construction on the development, or when it will open. Streit says the store will “mirror” the East Main Street Hy-Vee convenience store and station.
The building was franchised as a Long John Silvers from 1994 until it closed in June of 2014. WGIL reported last year that former franchisee Nellis Management closed the location, due to slow sales.
Streit says the acquisition from Nellis was in the works for many months.
