He was born March 4, 1922 in Rio, IL to John and Hannah Anderson Broline. He graduated from Woodhull Township High School in 1940. Curtis married Ora “Sunny” Broline March 9, 1946 in Galesburg, IL.
Curtis was a farmer, mechanic, and owned and operated Curt’s Repair and Service. He was also the Woodhull Water Commissioner.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull, a former board member of Crescent Lake in Alpha and the Woodhull Telephone Company. Curtis was a founder of Keithsburg Boat Club.
Survivors include two sons, James (Janet) Broline of Burr Ridge, IL, Russell Broline of Jacksonville Beach, FL; 2 grandsons, Illinois State Trooper John Christopher (Kathleen) Broline of Oak Lawn, IL, Matthew Curtis (Sonia) Broline, USAF of Andrews AFB, VA; 2 step-grandsons, Christopher Hall of Jacksonville, FL and Jason Hall of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 great grandsons, Daniel Broline of Oak Lawn, IL and Nathan Broline of Andrews, AFB, VA; one niece, Carol Kawamoto of Chicago Park, CA.
His parents, two brothers, Clarence and Kermit preceded him in death.
