The GHS Silver Streaks beat the Moline Maroons tonight(01/28) 60-34. This makes the Streaks 25-2 for the season and 7-1 in the Western Big 6, while the Maroons fall to 15-12 in their season and 2-6 in the Conference. The game started out pretty even but Moline pulled ahead just before the end of the 1st quarter to come out on top 15-14 going into the 2nd. Galesburg came out swinging to start the 2nd quarter though and pulled ahead by 11 going into halftime. They then continued to hold and build their lead throughout the rest of the game.
Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game was Raina Gully tonight. She had 12 points in the game, she also added 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Other players to mention tonight are Shayli Florine who had 14 points in the game. Shayli was also honored tonight for her recent achievement of getting her 1000th point. Lexi Daniels also broke into double figures with a total of 13 points that she added to the Streaks’ 60-34 victory. The Streaks, once again, are now 25-2 on the season and 7-1 in the Western Big 6 as they will have tomorrow off to prepare for Saturday’s game in the Galesburg Shootout against Jacksonville. Pre-game for that one is set for 2:40 with a 3 o’clock tip off.
