
Marceline Curtis, 94 of Abingdon, passed away at 8:36 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Care Center of Abingdon.
She was born November 18, 1921 near Avon, the daughter of David and Mary Crabill Coon. She married Earnest Curtis on February 9, 1946 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Josh Bearce, and brothers and sisters.
Marceline is survived by one son, Mike Curtis of Abingdon; three daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Ruth of Nebraska, Sue (Dick) Bearce of Galesburg and Sharon (Jimmy Curtis) Cameron of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Rex (Darlene) Nelson of New Mexico; three sisters, Carol Rogers of Missouri, Sherrill Nelson of Galesburg and Karen (Bill) Schmidt of Minnesota.
She had lived in Abingdon most of her life and worked at the Blue Bell Factory. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Abingdon and the Women’s Missionary. She volunteered at the Care Center of Abingdon for 15 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and her many Dachshund dogs over the years.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at First Assembly of God, 835 W. Martin St. in Abingdon. Rev. Russ Witkowski will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
