Mrs. Patricia Ann Henshilwood, 76, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:00 am Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home.
She was born May 23, 1939 in Galesburg the daughter of Edwin Russell and Helen Marie Poland Smith. She married Robert Henshilwood on July 4, 1960.
She is survived by her two sons, John Rigg of Galesburg and Todd (Gina) Henshilwood of Orlando, Florida; three daughters, Luann Rigg of Galesburg, Jeani K. (Sean) Yetz of Moline, Illinois and Robin L. Gibson of Davenport, Iowa; her sister, Sharon Shonkwiler of Fort Myers, Florida; her sister-in-law, Marriette Smith of Knoxville, Illinois; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Edwin Lee Smith, her sister, Norma Jean Simmons and a great grandson, Ronald Lee Mayes, Jr.
Patricia worked as the food supervisor at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for over 25 years until her retirement. She graduated from Galesburg High School and Carthage College in 1975. Patricia enjoyed baking cakes. She loved gardening and traveling, especially to Florida. Patricia had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Cherry, Julia and Mojo and her cat, Simon.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon-1:30 pm Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angel Humane Society.
