A 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive at the bottom of an Oneida swimming pool last night and is believed to have drowned.
Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas confirmed this afternoon that Devin Cunningham of Oneida is the deceased.
Cunningham was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center and was pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m yesterday.
An autopsy completed today revealed the cause of death to be “consistent with drowning.” Thomas says that no foul play is suspected.
It’s unknown how long the boy was in the pool before the father of the child discovered him.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
