Galesburg police responded to two reports of shots fired in four days. Both incidents were within a block of each other on Mulberry Street.
Police are seeking information about both Friday night’s shooting and Tuesday afternoon’s.
Lt. Tom LaFollette says evidence does not directly link the two shootings. Investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded before 2 p.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of Mulberry Street where four .40 caliber handgun shells were found on the ground. A vehicle in the area was damaged by gunfire.
On Friday, police were dispatched after 9 p.m. to Mulberry and Pine streets. There, police found spent shell casings and a bullet hole in a Pine Street home.
No injuries were reported in either shooting.
