
Mrs. Lela “Kay” Hillman, 72, of Decatur, Illinois formerly of Galesburg died at 12:45 am Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Fair Haven Christian Home in Decatur.She was born August 18, 1943 in Galesburg the daughter of Donald and Harriet Cameron Thorsen. She married Franklin E. Hillman. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Kay is survived by her children, Christopher (Christy) Hillman, Renee (Rick) Landgrebe both of Decatur, Becca (Andy) Christianson and Dawn (Jimmy) Alva both of Greenville, Tennessee; her two brothers, Thor and Todd Thorsen both of Jacksonville, Tennessee and her two sisters, Carol Davis of Chicago, Illinois and Jane Breen of Jacksonville, Tennessee, nine grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
Kay worked as a CNA for over 25 years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961 and was a member of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. Kay was a pastor’s wife and taught Children’s Sunday school. Kay enjoyed oil painting.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Galesburg. Rev. Andy Christianson will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday at the church. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
