Galesburg Silver Streaks Football vs LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers

Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“A tight battle early, turned into a 30 point victory late for the Galesburg Silver Streaks who actually built a 23 point lead over LaSalle-Peru and then went on to a 43-13 victory lead by 3 touchdown runs by Jacob Ross, an interception return by Tyree Mitchell for a touchdown, and the Silver Streaks scored on their first two possessions and just built the lead from there.

DeAndre Moren ran for just over 100yds. A fairly conservative game for him especially after rushing for over 300 in the win over LaSalle-Peru last year. But the Cavaliers hung tough but just never could make a run at the Silver Streaks defense who held tight and shut the Cavaliers down in a 30 point victory.

“Silver Streaks are now 2-0 on the season. They’ll head down to Marion next Saturday afternoon, looking to avenge a tough two-point loss last year. Marion is 0-2 after losing at home to Dunlap which the Silver Streaks defeated by 40+ the previous week, if that means anything, we’ll find out as the Silver Streaks make a long roadtrip next Saturday afternoon.

“Galesburg freshman team lost 22-6 they are 1-1 on the season. The Sophmores play next at LaSalle-Peru. Again the final, Varsity wins it by 30!”

Our Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player of The Game was Tyree Mitchell for his outstanding interception return!
