Margaret L. Olmsted, 88, of Galesburg, died at 1:35 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.She was born March 24, 1928, in Monmouth, the daughter of Gustaf and Esther (Palmberg) Johnson. She married H.K. “Ken” Olmsted on March 21, 1969 in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ken; two sons, Richard Bruyn of Galesburg and David (and Susan) Bruyn of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren, Blair Bruyn, Melissa Franz, and Samantha Bruyn; and two great grandchildren, Rowan Franz and Marlow Franz. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Johnson; and two sisters, Dorothy Terpening and Geraldine Bachrach.
Margaret worked for the former Bank of Galesburg for 17 years. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1947. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Pamela Marolla officiating.
