Racheal A. McKillip, 46, of Galesburg, died at 11:07 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at home.
She was born July 27, 1970, in Galesburg, the daughter of Stephen A. and Jane (Ellison) Thurman. She married Francis McKillip on February 3, 1989 in Burlington, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Francis; her mother, Jane Allen of Galesburg; two sons, Joel and Brian McKillip, both of Galesburg; a step son, Greg (fiancé Marissa) McKillip of Chicago; and her in-laws, Joseph and Fannie McKillip of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Thurman; her step father, Darrell D. Allen; her half-brother, Gregory M. Allen; and her beloved grandparents, Maynard M. and Anastasia Ellison.
Racheal was raised and educated in Galesburg. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1988 and from Carl Sandburg College in 2012. She most recently worked in the business office at Carl Sandburg College. She was of Christian faith.
Racheal loved her pets. She also enjoyed crafting, cross stitch, and cooking. Racheal was a very social person who loved and cared for her family, friends, co-workers, and students. She was an active supporter of METAvivor.org, a stage IV breast cancer support group, and recently had an article published with them.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with Pastor Chris Nissley officiating.
