
Shirley A. Marston, 83 of Eliza, IL died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Genesis Senior Living in Aledo. Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Eliza Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Fippinger’s where memorials may be left to the Eliza Community Church’s Ladies Aid Fund. She was born September 19, 1933 in Buffalo Prairie, IL to Harold and Ruth Elliott McKay. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Russell L. Marston May 9, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa. He died August 2002.
Shirley was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm. She dearly loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a member of the Eliza Community Church and the Ladies Aid. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, bird watching and especially being with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Mark Marston of Ames, Iowa; Randy (Denise) Marston of Joy, IL; R.J. (Susie) Marston of Aledo, IL; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two sons-in-law: Chris (Brenda) Bieri of Eliza, IL; Dale Weets of Wilton, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Pat McKay of Eliza, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Sharon Weets and Darla Bieri; one grandson, Adam Marston; and one brother, Bob McKay.
