
The Knox College Prairie Fire split a home doubleheader with MacMurray College and Robert Morris University on Monday.
After narrowly dropping the first set against the Highlanders 24-26, Knox bounced back to win the second set 25-22.
The Prairie Fire would fall in the next two sets 25-22, 25-23.
Rose Griffin led the Prairie Fire with 19 kills while Jeanette Peebles had 13.
Emily Mosher racked up 50 assists while Mady Ferris had 33 digs and Kyleigh Guthals had 27 digs for Knox.
In match number two Knox was not playing around. They quickly stomped out the Eagles 25-13,k 25-17, 25-9.
Griffin added another 12 kills while Kaitlyn Haase tallied 21 assists and Ferris added another 24 digs.

The Carl Sandburg College Volleyball squad came back in the last two sets to defeat Lincoln 25-15, 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 16-14 in non-conference action Monday night.
The Chargers have won 10 of their last 12 overall and are unbeaten in four home matches.
Sandburg returns to Arrowhead Conference action Tuesday night in the first of two crucial league matches this week.
CSC will travel to face Highland Tuesday before coming home to meet up with No. 10 Sauk Valley on Thursday.
MEN’S SOCCER
Hawkeye scored in the first minute of the second overtime period to get the win and beat Carl Sandburg College 4-2 yesterday.
The Chargers got goals from Mike Pavon, Daniel Freeman and Victor Dantas.

Monmouth-Roseville defeated Farmington yesterday in two sets 25-13, 31-29.
Kaylee Woodard led the Titans with 8 service points and 8 kills, while her sister Delaney added 10 assists. Mackenzi Connell had 4 aces.
Cam Jones had 10 digs and Carly Gillen had 4 blocks.

Chloe Kalb had 3 aces for the Tigers while Paige Swanson had 8 digs.

Mercer County went the distance with West Central and got the win in three sets: 27-25, 21-25, 26-24.
Mer-Co’s Karli Stineman had 14 kills and 4 blocks for the Golden Eagles, while Corrine Booton led the Heat with 25 digs, 9 kills and 2 aces.

Wethersfield rolled Williamsfield 25-10, 25-11.
Alivia Alford led the Bombers with 3 kills and 3 blocks while Mya Bednar had 6 digs.
BOYS GOLF
Monmouth-Roseville Titans defeated the Kewanee Boilermakers yesterday from Baker Park 162-170.
Nick Corman led the Titans, carding a 36 and earning medalist honors.
Lane Frieden shot a 40 while Aaron Blindt had a 41 and Reese Kane a 46.
Kewanee’s Sully Smith and Zak Shimmin both shot a 41.

Williamsfield swept a triangular with Ridgewood and North Fulton.
The Bombers finished with a team score of 160, Ridgewood kept it close shooting a 166 while North Fulton scored a 254.
Levi Swanson of Ridewood took home medalist honors – shooting a 37 (+1) for the Spartans.
Austin Larson shot a 38 for the Bombers while Calvin and Lorin Peterson each carded a 39.

Rockridge would sweep a triangular with Mercer County and Mid-County yesterday.
The Rockets shot a 168, while the Golden Eagles combined for a 174, and Cougars a 182.
Medalist honors went to Carson Hall who shot a 37 (+1).
Matt Graves led Mid-County carding a 41 while Kaden Willer and Carey Meyer each shot a 47.
Anthony Ruggles led the Golden Eagles with a 38.
GIRLS GOLF
Rockridge won a triangular with Mercer County and Mid-County shooting a 195 while the Eagles shot a 217.
Mid-County didn’t not field a full team, and individual Elizabeth Whitford shot a 47 to earn co-medalist honors with Rockridge’s Grace Preston who also shot a 47.
Abby Redlinger and Ella Rush both shot 49s for the Rockets.
Mercer County’s Mia Hillyer led the Golden Eagles with a 50 while Callie Seirina carded a 53.

The Monmouth-Roseville Titans shutout Peoria Christian yesterday 4-0
GIRLS TENNIS
The Silver Streak’s girl’s tennis team fell to Macomb yesterday 7-2.
In singles competitions it was Tiara Pendleton defeating Alison Dobrzuski 6-4, 6-6 (7-4).
In doubles Pendleton teamed up with Kennedi Davis to win their match 6-2.
