Martha J. Anderson, 96 of Milan, IL, formerly of New Windsor, IL died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, IL. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside memorial services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Calvary Lutheran New Windsor Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor. She was born September 30, 1921 in Clover Township, IL to Ward and Jessie Hall Morse. Martha attended the local schools. She was united in marriage to Frank W. Swanson on April 20, 1941. He died April 10, 1944. She later married Carl E. Anderson October 1, 1946. He died March 15, 1997.
Martha worked at several local restaurants, independently sold Home Interior and later was an activity aide at the Oak Lawn Nursing Home.
Martha was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and card club.
She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, crocheting and especially being with her family. She was very involved in activities at Hope Creek Care Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Nelson of New Windsor, IL; Carlene (Kenneth) Gustafson of Moline, IL; 1 grandson: Brett (Christi) Nelson of Muscatine, Iowa; 3 great granddaughters: Jenna, Kate and Carrie Nelson.
Her parents, husbands, one stillborn son and one son-in-law preceded her in death.
