
The Galesburg High School Silver Streak girls moved to 12-9 and 4-3 in the Western Big Six Conference with their sweep of Rock Island Thursday night: 25-20, 25-21.
Both sets saw Galesburg rallying from early deficits to get the wins.
The Streaks were led by Emily Meinert who had 7 kills while Hannah Huppenbauer had six kills along with a 2 blocks.
Megan Lingafelter racked up 13 assists and Lauryn Campbell had five digs.
Yvonne Mixon recorded Galesburg’s lone ace.
The Galesburg freshmen and sophomores both got sweeps as well with the freshmen: 25-23, 25-21; and sophomores: 25-16, 25-21

The Sherrard Tigers got the sweep on Churchill last night.
The 7th graders fell 27-21 sliding the Blue Streaks to 6-3.
Lilly Clark led with eight points while Hannah Dillbeck notched seven points and Kayla Pendergast scored six.
The 7th graders will take part in the Stark County tournament on Saturday.
The 8th graders didn’t fair any better – falling to the Tigers 26-13.
Abby Lingafelter led the eighth graders with four points, while Grace Nelson and Kadynce Lydic each scored three.
