Paul Richard “Dick” Doubet, age 84, of rural Williamsfield, Illinois, passed away at 1:55 A.M. on November 5, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Galesburg, Illinois.He was born on September 14, 1933 to Paul “Spud” and Lois (Cravens) Doubet in Knox County, Illinois. He attended and graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1951. He married Joyce M. Naslund on September 10, 1955 at the Victoria Methodist Church in Victoria, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife Joyce Doubet of rural Williamsfield, Illinois; three children, Doug (Nannette) Doubet, Jay Doubet, and Danette Doubet, all of Williamsfield, Illinois; a granddaughter, Kyla Doubet of Williamsfield, Illinois; two siblings, Dan (Judy) Doubet of Galesburg, Illinois, and Gary (Katherine) Doubet of Williamsfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joe Doubet; and one sister, Carol Moore.

He served in the United States Army from June 10, 1953 until April 20, 1955. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal, and the Marksmanship Badge during his service. He enjoyed his work as a farmer, and was a member of the Williamsfield American Legion Post #371.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all doctors, nurses, and staff at all the institutions that have cared for Paul during the past year and a half, with a special thank you to Dana Tucker.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at the Williamsfield Cemetery in Williamsfield, Illinois, Rev. Jennifer Seder officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Williamsfield American Legion Post #371. A Fellowship will follow the services at the Williamsfield American Legion Post #371 in Williamsfield, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or to the Victoria United Methodist Church.
