Robert L. Olson, 82, a resident of the Kewanee Care Home in Kewanee, IL, formerly of Bishop Hill and Oswego, died at 12:50 a.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the home.Cremation will be accorded and graveside services and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1 at Bishop Hill Cemetery. Rev. Trisha Chapman will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 11, 1935 in Kewanee, the son of Donald A. and Ruby H. (Hultquist) Olson. Survivors include a nephew, Donald Palaski of Stroudsberg, PA and a brother-in-law, Robert Palaski of Geneseo. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marjorie Palaski and two nieces, Teresa Ann and Conner Jo.
Robert graduated from Galva High School and Bradley University in Peoria. He had been a high school math teacher in Oswego, IL. He volunteered as an election judge for many years at his local polling station. In his early years he was a member of the Bishop Hill Community United Methodist Church.
