
Mrs. Connie L. Jensen, 75, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, Illinois.She was born July 11, 1942, in Galesburg, the daughter of David LeRoy and Helen Elizabeth (Tracy) Rouland. She married Richard Landon in 1962 in Galesburg. She later married Lyman M. Jensen on June 22, 1976, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2009.
Connie is survived by one son, Mike (Lori) Landon of Galesburg; three daughters, Lori (Steve) Dredge, Lana Almaguer, and Sherri (Jeff) Kremer, all of Galesburg; a sister, Janet (Richard) Uddin of Illinois, two brothers, Darrell (Glenda) Rouland of Alabama and Gary (Judy) Rouland of Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Kristy Rouland of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Jim Jensen of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Jennifer and Dylan Landon, Nic and Justin Bailey, Jason Chaney and Megan Dredge, Cole and Luke Almaguer and Alissa Kremer; eight great grandchildren, McKenzie Landon, Jenzin Bailey, Draek, Braxton and Ava Chaney, and Amelia and twins, Isabel and Isaac Almaguer. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, David Rouland and a sister-in-law, Agnes “Sis” Cross.
Connie worked for the City of Galesburg in the Finance Department for 10 years. She also worked for Kirlin’s Card Store. She graduated from Galesburg High in 1960. She loved traveling with her husband, Lyman, spending time with her class mates, and the card club gang. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially shopping with them and attending all of their sporting events. Connie will always be remembered for her “Bad Gravy”.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Relay for Life.
