Louis “Louie” Howard Moon, 84 of Abingdon, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Care.He was born January 24, 1933 in Hermon, the son of Jesse Seaton and Margaret Blanche (Stegall) Moon. He married Shirley A. Lefort Lusk on November 17, 1976 in Geneseo. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Martin Moon and two sisters, Anita White and Alice Sharp.
Louie is survived by Joy (Kevin) Walsh of London Mills; his brother, Seaton (Betty) Moon of Hermon; his cousin, Frederick Stegall of Abingdon; nieces and nephews and their families; and two stepchildren and their families.
He graduated from Abingdon High School and had lived in the Hermon and Abingdon areas all his life. He was a retired farmer and was involved in several farm and livestock organizations in his lifetime. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Pastor Danny Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
