
Lola Christine Barton, 76 of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.She was born March 16, 1941 in Berwick, Illinois, the daughter of Lowell and Margaret Purl Roberts. She married Max Salisbury in 1959 in Greenbush, Illinois. She later married Raymond “Ray” Barton on December 27, 1985 in San Angelo, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Lorraine-Salisbury-Harper, her parents, one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Roberts and one granddaughter, Alyson Leah Hoots.
Christine is survived by her children, Janet Auten of Bolivar, Missouri, Bonnie Salisbury of Archie, Missouri, Valerie Kalberloh of Freeman, Missouri and Michael Salisbury of Lowry City, Missouri; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean (Cecil) Oyler of Avon, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Linda Roberts of Roseville, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Michelle Green of Waterloo, New York; and one step-granddaughter.
She moved to in Galesburg after Ray’s passing and had lived in Abingdon since 2005. Before retiring, she and Ray owned Ray’s Dart and Billiards in Seneca Falls, New York prior to moving to Abingdon. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, traveling and she enjoyed decorating her homes. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
