Ida M. “Marian” Reffett, age 83, of Altona, Illinois, died at 11:16 A.M. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.She was born on August 5, 1934 in New Windsor, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Emma (Carlson) Wadhams. She graduated from New Windsor High School, the Class of 1952. She married Claude A. Reffett on June 20, 1957 in Danville, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Claude A. Reffett of Altona, Illinois; her children: Deborah (Paul) Collinson of Galva, Illinois, Janet (Duane) Collins of Avon, Illinois, Jeffrey Reffett of Oneida, Illinois, Dawn Lair of Galesburg, Illinois, and Steven (Laura) Reffett of Altona, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; her sisters: Harriet (Leland) Peterson of Woodhull, Beverly (Gary) Cook of Grinnell, Iowa; and one brother, Billy (Twila) Wadhams of Danville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ellen Harshbarger; and four brothers: Donald, Russell, Melvin and La Verne Wadhams.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Altona, Illinois. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was a true “Grandmother”.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Oneida, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona, Illinois, Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Henderson Grove Cemetery in Knox County, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family.
