Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs Moline Maroons

Recap by Tom Meredith:

“The Galesburg Silver Streaks are now 14-15 on the season and 3-6 in the Western Big 6 Conference after they fell to the Moline Maroons 48-41. Streaks were down early on in the game trailing 13-4 at the end of the first quarter and still struggled to get back into it as they went into halftime down 22-16. The Streaks went on to out score Moline 15-13 in the third quarter and even cut the lead to just two points in the fourth but just didn’t have enough to overtake the Maroons. Andrea Sampson led the way with 16 points (3 3-pointers/3 2-pointers/ & 1/2 free throws) and she was the only Streaks player in double figures. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Megan Lingafelter who only had 1 point but did a great job on defense finishing the night with 5 rebounds and 3 steals with two of them coming late in the forth quarter to help give the Streaks a chance for a comeback win. Unfortunately the Streaks were unable to seal the deal down the stretch and ended up losing a close one to Moline 48-41.”
