Robert D. “Rob” Grubb Jr., 62 of Galesburg, passed away at 7:03 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.He was born September 7, 1955 in Peoria, the son of Robert D. and Leona Flynn Grubb Sr.
Rob is survived by two sons, Jason (Nanda) Grubb of Galesburg and Kyle (Heather) Grubb of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Evie, Dace and Will; his parents, Robert and Leona Grubb Sr. of Galesburg; one brother, Andy (Donna) Grubb of Galesburg; and one sister, Liz (Terry) Peters of Galesburg.
He graduated from Farmington High School in 1973. He later attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg. He has worked as a meat cutter at the Hi-Lo Grocery Store in Abingdon for a total of 30 years and recently retired. He had also worked at Hy-Vee in Galesburg. His hobbies included coin collecting, bowling and flower gardening. He greatest times were spent with his sons, his grandchildren and his family.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
