DECATUR, Ill. (AP) – The foundation of Macon County Sheriff Howard Buffett says it’s making an “unprecedented investment” in Decatur.
The announcement involves community health and will be made Wednesday. No other details were released Monday.
Buffett is the son of billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who has helped the foundation by giving his Berkshire Hathaway stock.
The Herald & Review reports that Howard Buffett’s foundation has donated millions of dollars to projects in central Illinois. He was appointed sheriff in September and was an executive at Archer Daniels Midland.
