Richard L. “Dick” Anderson, 86, of Galesburg, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Rosewood Care Center.He was born September 10, 1932, in Galesburg, the son of Richard L. and Mary (Simmons) Anderson. He married Eleanor L. Jacobs March 1, 1953, in Galesburg. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; a brother, Terry (Sandy) Anderson of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Gregg (Serene) Anderson of Australia and Jeffrey (Janna) Anderson of Bolingbrook; a daughter, Julie Anderson of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Dick worked as a bookkeeper for Galesburg Construction Company for many years. He also served as the liaison between the company and the union. Dick was a graduate of Galesburg High School and Brown’s Business College. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Dick enjoyed playing chess and will be remembered for always taking care of his family. Dick served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.   Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pedro Roman officiating.
