Mrs. Jean Ann Corbin, 71, of Galesburg, Illinois died 4:49 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. She was born June 7, 1947 in Galesburg to William Howard and Dorothy Jane (Wallace) Guenther. She married David F. Mahnesmith, Sr. November 27, 1965 in Galesburg. She later married Donald J. Corbin July 4, 1991 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Surviving are six sons, Robert (and Kellie) Mahnesmith of Chillicothe, Illinois, Kirk Davidson Mahnesmith of Galesburg, Keith Mahnesmith of Galesburg, Will (and Angie) Mahnesmith of Galesburg, Larry Mahnesmith of Versailles, Missouri and Clayton Mahnesmith of Prairie City, Illinois; two daughters, Kelli (and Dean) Axcell of Knoxville, Illinois and Shelli (and John) O’Connell of Knoxville and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David F. Mahnesmith, Jr., a brother, William Howard Guenther and a sister, Connie Lawrence.
Jean was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Knoxville for 18 years. She also worked for Connie’s Ceramics and For Our Birds in Galesburg. She volunteered at the Galesburg Library in the Genealogical Department. She loved to bowl in several different bowling leagues. She was a member of the Women’s National Bowling Association. She was also a member of the former Moose Lodge #88 in Galesburg. Jean enjoyed crafts, working in the flower garden and fishing. She loved entertaining friends and family in her home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
