
Mr. Baker Ardell Jenkins, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his home. He was born March 29, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois to Beryle Fulton and Luevenia A. (Jenkins) Fulton. He married Marcia Myers January 13, 2002 in Galesburg.
Surviving is his wife of being together 27 years, Marcia; two sons, Michael (and Lisa) Jenkins of Galesburg, Bobby Joe Jenkins of Galesburg; two daughters, Lisa (and Mickael) Kolasar of Pekin, Illinois and Takinna Jenkins of Arizona; two step daughters, Jane (and Todd) Bloss of Florida and JoEllen Warren of Galesburg; a special friend, Amy (and Craig) Tabb of Monmouth, Illinois; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Glenn, Frank, Dallas and Raymond Jenkins and two sisters, Merlann Haslett and Glenda Hasty.
Baker was a laborer for Gunther Construction in Galesburg for 37 years and retired in 1995. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Laborer’s Union # 538. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, Mike, “Crazy Bob, Craig and Bub. He loved watching professional wrestling and the CNN.
As Baker requested, cremation will be accorded. Scattering ceremony will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 at East Linwood Cemetery, Scattering Garden, Galesburg. There is no visitation scheduled. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
