Mr. Donald O. Moger, 71, of Galesburg passed away at 5:22 am Sunday March 31, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.Don was born June 13, 1947 in Bonnie, Illinois the son of Alfred and Virdine Carroll Moger. He married Patricia Galloway in 1970 in Galesburg. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Galesburg; his sister, Carol Moger; his nephew, Brad Galloway and two nieces, Angela (Chris) Galloway-Jones and Brenda (Nate) Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents. Don graduated from Galesburg High School in 1965. He served in the US Army during Vietnam War as a Corporal. After his return home from the service, Don attended Carl Sandburg College, completing the real estate program. Don worked for Gates Rubber Company, retiring in 2002. He played on a pool league at Harley’s Pub. There he enjoyed hanging out with his friends while shooting pool. Don was a diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan and was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites by VFW, American Legion and AmVet Honor Guard. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
