The view from a reporter who has covered the Avon standoff from the beginning

The standoff and fatal shooting outside Avon drew a large police presence, with departments from throughout the region assisting. While the incident was essentially in our back yard, it also drew reporters from Peoria, the Quad Cities, and Quincy. WMBD-TV Peoria reporter Matt Sheehan is among those covering the aftermath of the standoff for his station, for WHBF Local 4 News in the Quad Cities, and others.
