The Galesburg Silver Streaks finish the regular season on a high note with a win on the road at Moline over the Maroons, 79-67.
The Streaks shot the ball really well from the field. They were 23 for 47 overall, 10 for 21 behind the three-point arc, and a really efficient night for the Streaks with eight 3-pointers in the game and 23 for 29 from the free-throw line.
Riley Jenkins was named the Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. The junior had 37-points on 9 for 14 shooting. She was 13 for 14 from the free throw line, she hit 6 three-pointers and also pulled down 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. Lauren Livingston had 16 points and 13 rebounds , so a double-double for her. She also had 4 assists, a steal, and a block. She was 4 for 5 from the line and hit a couple of threes as well. So the Streaks got good contributions from all involved and come out with the win tonight.
Moline was led by Bralee Trice with 23 points and Cierra McNamee with 19. The Maroons just hit 8 of 19 free throws in the ballgame.
So the Silver Streaks are now 18-13 as they finish the regular season and finish in the Western Big 6 Conference with a 6-8 record. Moline drops to 19-12 and 8-6 in the Western Big 6.
The sophomores got an exciting win on a last-second shot by Abby Lingafelter. They defeat Moline 56-55.
Next up, it’s the regional opener for the Streaks at John Thiel Gym next Tuesday night. The Streaks will take on the Rock Island Rocks.
