Mary Louise Morrell, 76, of Kewanee, passed away at 7:30 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2020 at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 21 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Jon Vincent will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westfall Cemetery in rural Victoria. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Chapter of the Henry County Humane Society.
She was born on October 30, 1943, in Galesburg, the daughter of Sylvanus Earl and Florence Ruth (Callison) Mitchell. Survivors include her children; David (Theresa) Morrell, Mark (Robin) Morrell, Tim Morrell, and Tina Morrell Hendricks, two brothers, Ray Mitchell and Richard (Lynn) Mitchell and seven grandchildren; Bradley Morrell, Harrison Morrell, Skyler Morgan, Lauren (Ellen) Morrell Border, Madeline Morrell, EeGee Morrell, and Carter Morrell. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Earline Bresaw and Bill, Edmund and Edward “Eddie” Mitchell and her companion, George Bennison.
Mary graduated from Galesburg High School. She had worked in human resources at Hyster’s in Kewanee for over 20 years. She had a love for cats and enjoyed listening to 80’s music. This obituary may be viewed and private condolences left at www.ruxfuneralhome.com.
