Rita L. Schisler, 83, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 10:12 a.m., Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. Rita was born December 30, 1936, in Olney, IL, the daughter of Kelly O. and Genevieve (Burnett) Jones. She was raised and educated in Monmouth. Rita married Gerald “Gus” Schisler in Carthage, IL on June 18, 1953, and he survives. She worked at Gambles, Western Union, Sears & Roebucks and later for 24 years at Admirals in Galesburg. She enjoyed horseback riding, water skiing, roller skating, and dancing. She served as the Secretary of the Yorkwood PTA. Survivors include her husband, Gus Schisler, her son, Steve (Dawn) Schisler; daughters, Brenda (Perry) Hillman and Lisa (Kevin) Trego all of Monmouth, IL; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Longevity for Lily.
