There is now one individual incarcerated at the Henry C. Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg that has tested positive for COVID-19.

That’s according to a frequently updated chart kept at the Illinois Department of Corrections’ website.

The Knox County Unified Command also confirmed a second Knox County case late Friday, a male in his 30’s, but didn’t specify the case was in a Hill inmate.

Hill is a medium-security adult male prison that houses about 1,700 inmates.

Several other state prisons have seen inmates test positive for the coronavirus, but the largest outbreak has come at Stateville Correctional Center.

IDOC says facilities with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are placed on lockdown, which means there is no movement around the facility except for medical care.
