Owner of Cherry St. Restaurant and Bar Michelle Kim says she’s making a difficult choice in closing an establishment that’s long been a Galesburg staple.
Kim, who has owned Cherry St. for the past 4 years, made the announcement on the bar’s Facebook page Thursday afternoon.
Kim says she came to the decision after “many hours of analyzing, projecting, planning, and questioning.”
She says trying to operate during COVID-19 came with a host of challenges.
Kim says, “Every day brought new problems, and there were frequently not solutions.”

Cherry St. will be open for “one last hurrah” on Saturday, October 17.
