Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announced on Thursday the release of about $46 million in small business grants throughout the state.
It’s the second round of distributions under the Business Interruption Grants, targeted at helping offset COVID-19 related costs for businesses around Illinois.
Knox County businesses receiving grants in the second round include Azer Clinic, Discovery Depot, Knox Galesburg Symphony, Go Van Goghs, Landmark Cafe, Koreana, Sabrina’s Bridal and Prom, and the Double Take Bar and Grill.
Only a single Warren County business got funding; $5,000 for Roseville Floral and More.
Overall, the BIG grant program as it’s called, is a $636 million program created by the Gov. and authorized by the General Assembly.
Grants from the first round ranged from $10,000-$20,000 and were to help businesses with working capital expenses; things like payroll, rent, and other unexpected costs to mitigate the impact of the pandemic, such as PPE, training, and new technology.
Five Knox County businesses got funding in the first round; all bars, restaurants and gyms.
