Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is announcing she will not seek another term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The East Moline Democrat made the announcement in a video posted Friday.

She says it will be a “new decade and she feels it’s time for a new voice.”

It’s also likely that the 17th District will look very different in the next Congress since the political map will be redrawn following the census.

Some of Bustos’ priorities in her tenure include rural agriculture, expanding access to healthcare, and caring for servicemembers and veterans.

Bustos was first elected to Congress in 2012, defeating one-term Republican Bobby Schilling.
