The City of Galesburg’s municipal golf course was highlighted in a recent article on Golf.com
The article’s entitled “Munis you love: 25 underrated municipal golf courses, according to you,” and can be found at Golf.com

The course was recognized as one of six praiseworthy public courses in the Midwest. The courses were all chosen via a reader poll.

The course is owned and managed by the City of Galesburg, as one of the recreational opportunities offered by the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Parks and Rec Director Tony Oligney-Estill says they’re “thrilled” with the recognition.

He says, “The fact that selection was based on a reader poll, makes it even more meaningful because the praise came from local golfers who utilize the course.”

Bunker Links has recently undergone renovations to the outdoor patio to provide more space, shade, and seating for those utilizing the facility. There’s also a new eagle eye camera above the 18th green, so golfers can see their finishing shot following their round of golf.
