
Joanie K. Reichow, 62, of Chillicothe, IL formerly of Macomb, IL, passed away at 7:08 pm, Friday, June 25, 2021, surrounded by her family at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Joanie was born May 18, 1959, in Albia, IA, daughter of William L. and Marcia K. (Larson) Reichow. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, IL graduating from Monmouth High School in 1977 where she was a gifted athlete. She later attended Monmouth College.
Joanie married Brian R. Crawford in Monmouth, IL in December 1980.
Joanie worked for a time at the National Bank in Monmouth. She was currently a massage therapist and worked at a local community center.
Joanie was a very active outdoors person who enjoyed walking her dog, hunting, traveling, being by any body of water, golfing, landscaping and shopping. One of her biggest joys and passions was raising, showing, and training Arabian horses. Another joy was going on family fishing trips to Lake Wabaskang in Ontario, Canada as a tradition for over 50 years. Those trips extended over many generations of the Reichow family including Joanie’s grandparents, parents, siblings, children, and cousins. She loved her family and enjoyed gatherings with her family and her friends. Above all else, Joanie lived for her daughters, parents, grandchildren, and family. She will be missed beyond measure.
Growing up in Monmouth, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and while living in Macomb she attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of 2 different chapters of PEO.
Survivors include her daughters, Lauren (Tom) Tucker of Noblesville, IN and Jenna (Matt) Gallup of Oswego, IL; her 5 grandchildren, Charlotte, Grace, and Leah Tucker, Norah and Nash Gallup. She is also survived by her parents, William & Marcia Reichow of Monmouth, IL; her 3 sisters, Julie (Steve) Graves, Jackie Flater, and Jan (Trent) Griffith; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 am, Friday, July 2, 2021, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation has been accorded. A private family interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Monmouth. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rainbow Riders or the Joanie K. Reichow Memorial Fund.
