Miss Knox County Fair Queen for 2021 was crowned on Saturday at Knoxville High School

Taylor Main was crowned as the new queen by the 2019 winner, Emma Hanson.

Main is an Oneida native, going into her sophomore year at Purdue University, with a double major in Food science and biochemistry.

Now she has a year of being the Queen but it starts with a week or her and along with Junior Miss and Little Miss presiding over the Knox County Fair.

Main says it was “unimaginable” when her name was called as the winner, particularly since this was the first pageant she’d ever participated in.
She says with the public speaking parts, she had a lot of practice in high school through FFA.

Main also of course will compete in the State County Fair Queen pageant in January.

Payton Allen was crowned Junior Miss Knox County Fair Queen. Allen is going into her freshman year at Knoxville High School.

This was her first time participating in a pageant, saying she wanted “something new to try.”

Allen went a little outside the box for her speech. She did a parody of the theme song to the 90’s sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

She plans on continuing with soccer on her travel team, and thinks she’ll compete in the Miss competition in a few years.

The Little Miss is Ellery Van Unick, an 8-year-old that hails from Victoria.

When she went to the fair a few years ago, she saw the queens and wanted to know who the girls with the sashes and crowns were.
COVID made Ellery wait a year longer than she wanted, but in the end, it paid off.
