Helen Louise Sloan, 97, of Oneida, Illinois passed away at the Knox County Nursing Home at 3:28 A.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
She was born in rural Knox County, Illinois on February 26, 1924, the daughter of Leonard and Nellie (Smith) Gardner. She married Shirland Sloan on August 29, 1971, in Oneida, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2007.
Surviving are her daughters: Sheryl Clark-McCann of Cambridge, Illinois, and Sheila (David) Livermore of Smithshire, Illinois; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Jerald, and three brothers.
She enjoyed hand quilting, canning, and gardening.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois, with Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Memorials may be made to the A.O.W.
