Jack Eugene Wyatt, 85, lost his courageous battle with cancer on August 16, 2021, at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida.

He was born August 30, 1935, in Galesburg, the son of Lyman and Mildred Wyatt.

Jack served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea and made life-long friends. He retired from Blick Art Materials after a 40 plus year career, as CEO/Chairman of the Board. Some of the awards Jack received over the years include the Boss of the Year, the Jaycee Distinguished Service Award, the Book of Golden Deeds Award, the Galesburg Businessman of the Year, George E. Warren Business Leader Award, and Manager of the Year.

A generous person, Jack volunteered at various organizations throughout his life. In Galesburg, he was actively serving as a director with First Galesburg National Bank and Trust, St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, and the Knox County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Other boards that Jack was involved with include, Knox College Board of Trustees, Carl Sandburg College Foundation, Galesburg Civic Art Center, Galesburg Rotary Club, and Discovery Depot Children’s Museum. Additionally, Jack served as Chairman of the Boy Scouts Division 2 and the Pillar Club of the Knox County United Way. He was active with the Gale Society Membership Drive. In Florida, Jack volunteered with Health Park Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; children, Kelly (Stephen), Doug, Tonya (TJ); stepdaughter, Jennifer (Bryan); and grandchildren, Zoe (Jeremy), Wyatt, Jaxon, Dylan, and Maddux. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra Legrand; and a brother, Roger.

The family invites friends to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Discovery Depot Children’s Museum.   Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
