Galesburg Police on Thursday, September 30th, responded to Carl Sandburg College to meet with campus security in regards to a suspicious incident. A security guard met with GPD along with three Sandburg employees who told police three female students have come forward and said they were all three sexually assaulted by the same male individual. The male suspect is a 19-year old from Normal, Illinois according to police reports. The alleged assaults occurred at the Sandburg Villas where many college students stay while attending school. The female victims told college staff there were a total of six incidents dating back from around Christmas of last year to September 19th of this year. The females attended parties at the Sandburg Villas where they were drinking, and suspect the male individual might have put something in their drink. The females couldn’t recall anything else that happened those nights and they felt sick the next morning. Galesburg Police intend to interview all the individuals further, and the investigation is ongoing.
