Arthur H. Weeks, Jr., 74, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home.
He was born on September 9, 1947, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Arthur, Sr., and Agnes (Skutnick) Weeks. Art was raised and educated in Kewanee and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1965.
Art served in the United States Navy for 3 years during the Vietnam War.
Art married Judy Fueri on December 15, 1972, in Cambridge, IL; she survives.
Art worked for the local telephone companies for over 38 years. He worked as a lineman and later retired as the local manager for Frontier Communications. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and gardening. Art enjoyed serving for several years on the American Legion/V.F.W. Honor Guard in Monmouth. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Surviving Art is his wife, Judy Weeks of Monmouth, IL; his children, Nathan Weeks of Belle Plaine, IA, Dawn (Matt Cavanaugh) Weeks of Downers Grove, IL, Laura (Ashley) Weeks-Sanchez of Galesburg, IL, David (Annamarie) Smith & Boys, Melissa (Garth) Winn & family of Cedar City, UT; stepson, Jake (Jenn) Fueri & family of Bountiful, UT; his grandchildren, Sydney & Easton Jones, Weston, Emma & Nevaeh Weeks, Jay & Keira Admire. Also surviving is his brother, Tom (Pat) Weeks of Neponset, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two half-brothers, Wilbur and Harold Weeks.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Monmouth American Legion or the Monmouth American Legion/V.F.W. Honor Guard. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
