Carl Sandburg College is set to receive a portion of 4-million dollars in grant funding to support the innovative bridge and transition programs, assisting the transition of students between education systems and employment. The grants come from the Illinois Community College Board, for which Sandburg is receiving 100-thousand dollars, and help meet four main objectives. The initiatives improve student transition to and through post-secondary education and into employment, support transitions for individuals with disabilities, and scale programs that promote equity and diversity among those served. The ICCB announced nearly 23-million dollars in grants yesterday designated to 18 community colleges and nearly 20 organizations for both the IBT program and Illinois’ Workforce Equity Initiative.
