The City of Galesburg on Friday is launching a citizen engagement portal on the City’s website as well as a City of Galesburg app.

One of the things the app will allow is service requests to be made quickly and conveniently.

City Manager Todd Thompson says they’re “happy to be able to offer another opportunity for citizens to connect with the City.”

Thompson says often citizens may have a request but are unsure of who they need to contact.

It’s also easy to go to the City of Galesburg website and below the large picture banner find an option to report a problem.

The system walks the user through choices of what kind of request they’d like to submit, along with the ability to choose the location of the issue on a map.

Citizens will include their contact information with the request in order to receive updates as the issue is addressed by City personnel.

Some examples of problems you could report through the app or the website are reporting a pothole, needed maintenance at a park, or property maintenance violations such as trash or weeds at a neighboring property.
