Luther D. “Bub” Nimrick, 75, of Woodhull, IL passed away at OSF St Mary Medical on Friday, February 4, 2022.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, IL. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Petrie Cemetery in New Windsor. Bub was born on February 26, 1946, in Moline, IL to Hubert and Doris (Brown) Nimrick. Bub met the love of his life at the Alpha Roller Rink. Bub and Daleen (Swanson) married in North Henderson on September 19, 1964.

He retired from the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline in 1994 after 30 years, reaching his goal of 48 and out the gate! After retirement, Bub filled his free time raising cattle, hunting, and fishing, playing cards with the Rio gang, helping the Swansons at harvest, looking for the perfect yard sale bargain, reselling those bargains at the Rutledge Flea Market, and cheering on his grandkids at all of their events! Bub also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson.

Bub was very active in his community. He was a youth softball coach in New Windsor; served on the New Windsor Village Board; was a lifelong director and past president of the New Windsor Rodeo; past president of the Petrie Cemetery Board; Santa at the New Windsor Christmas Walk and a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Daleen Nimrick; one son, Troy (Mandi) Nimrick of Woodhull; two granddaughters, Alyssa (Dustin Markus), Altona, IL and Paige, Woodhull; twin grandsons, Dylan and Drake, Woodhull; great-grandson, Zackary Markus; two brothers, Dennis (Ruby) Nimrick and Steve (Sonia) Nimrick; two sisters, Sonjia (Rich) Fell and Nena (Phil) Visser; and one brother in law, Larry Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Todd Nimrick; one brother, Marvin Nimrick; and a sister, Sandy Anderson.
