Galesburg man arrested after caught burglarizing vacant home.

A Galesburg man was taken to jail after getting caught burglarizing a vacant home. Galesburg Police responded to a home in the 300 block of East North Street on Sunday afternoon (April 3rd) after the property manager observed a man inside the house and called police. Officers arrived and could hear glass breaking inside. They then observed 53-year old James Black of Galesburg attempting to flee from a window. Black was taken to the ground and continually struggled with police. After he was detained officers located a pair of scissors on the ground near where Black was laying. Black was also in possession of a pair of glass smoking pipes. Black was transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with Residential Burglary, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
